Common questions
▶Is there really no card required for the free trial?
Correct. The 30-day free trial requires a card on file (Stripe), but you are not charged until day 31. Cancel anytime in your account → billing settings before then.
▶Can I switch tiers later?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade anytime. Stripe prorates the difference automatically. Annual subscribers get unused months credited.
▶What counts as a "credential"?
Each Open Badge v2.0 credential issued through PROOF. Includes program completions, micro-credentials, and stackable badges. Donations and volunteer logs do not count.
▶Do you offer nonprofit discounts beyond what is shown?
These prices ARE our nonprofit prices. We are a 501(c)(3) ourselves (EIN 81-3555399). For statewide networks or institutions, talk to us about the Anchor tier.
▶What happens if I exceed my credential cap?
Free tier: issuance pauses with a clear upgrade prompt. Paid tiers: a soft alert at 90%, never hard-blocked.
▶Where does my donation/credential data live?
Your data lives in DowUrk's Candid Gold-verified MongoDB infrastructure (US-hosted). You retain full ownership. Export anytime via the API (Pro) or admin export tool (all paid tiers).
